I have always wanted to throw a Paris Themed Party, so when I pitched this idea to Aya for her 9th birthday party…she was totally on board! She’s a little fashionista and to her Paris equals Macarons, so what’s not to love!
A Paris themed party can really mean so many different things to different people. It can consist of a pink and black colour palette with cute little poodles or be really chic. For this party I wanted more of a vintage feel with soft pastels, metallics, and play on the whimsical boutiques and cafes of Paris.
My daughter always wants to be part of every detail of her party and I love having her as my party styling sidekick! The first step was to select a venue that could compliment the Paris theme and ambiance of the party. Posh Pedicure Lounge is a beautifully decorated nail salon owned by my friend Penny Rumming. The Salon is all about creating a fun experience for women or little girls as they get pampered and get their nails done. Penny was nice enough to let us take over for the evening and decorate her shop. Her staff was so attentive and all the guest had such a great time!
This fabulous Paris themed cake was created by Maya of M’s Cuppycakes. The inspirational design of the cake resembles the vintage look and feel of the boutique streets of Paris. It was the perfect centerpiece for the dessert table. Maya also made the delicious pink lemonade macarons.
I took plain and simple mini donuts and transformed them into fancy bite sized desserts by displaying them this pretty cupcake stand with glass dome.
Party Tip: Dress up store bought desserts and simple party accessories like paper straws by presenting them in fancy cake plates, bowls, platters or glassware. They will look so glamours and and style to your dessert table.
I also found a vintage metal half birdcage that is meant to be hung up against a wall decor. Instead, I used it on the dessert table to display some of the desserts and fresh fruit. Again, sweet little touches like the paper flags and mini doilies add to theme.
The party favours for the girls to take home were kraft paper goodie bags filled with candy and sealed with a gold sticker. As well as pink cotton candy bags tied with a pretty white satin bow.
One of my favourite products in the shop are these gorgeous macaron trinket boxes. I have been waiting for the chance to use them and they fit in perfectly with the Paris theme. I gave this one to Aya as a keepsake after her party and she uses it as a mini jewelry box for her charms.
A special thanks goes out to my dear friend Saleme from Saleme Fayad Photography for capturing all the special moments of this party!
Aya and her guests got their nails done, ate delicious desserts, giggled a lot and created lasting memories that Aya will cherish for a long time. Those are the moments that make my job worth it!
Happy Party Planning!
