Shabby Chic Sweet as Pie Themed Party

We recently added a new line of beautiful wedding products to the shop and one of the new products are a set of adorable mini pie boxes.  As soon as we saw these cute little boxes, they inspired us to come up with a “Sweet As Pie” theme for my youngest daughter’s second birthday.

We began working on some idea boards and came up with a color palette of pastel tones in two shades of pink, robins egg blue and ivory.  To add to the theme and complete the table decor, we included some beautiful shabby chic elements.  We also added some rustic elements such as burlap and wood.  To complete the look and feel of the theme, the party took place in a local park with a stunning magnolia tree as the backdrop of the dessert table.

At the center of the table was a two tiered fondant cake.  The bottom layer had ruffled flowers and the top layer was lined with lace and then a satin ribbon.  The cake was topped with my daughter, Noor’s name and the number two using our Silhouette Cameo printer. The letters were cut out of glitter paper and then attached to wooden pegs.

We personalized these adorable mini linen favor bags by stenciling the letter N in gold glitter.  To do this we placed an outline of the letter N on top of each bag, applied some crafter’s glue and then covered it with glitter.  We let them dry and then peeled off off the stencil.  The favor bags were displayed in a pretty ivory box designed with a decorative pink glass flower on the front.

Mason jars were filled with pink lemonade and closed off with a daisy lid.  We wrapped them in the same lace used for the cake and added pink and ivory ruffled fabric ribbons.

Mini apple pies were giving out as favors in the sweetie pie boxes wrapped in pink baker’s twine.

Cherry pie pops were displayed in a charming vintage wooden box with a lid.  We filled the box with fabric ruffled flowers and rolled burlap flowers and also scattered some around the table.

Glitter wrapped coconut cupcakes topped with pink ruffled fondant flowers were showcased in this vintage display drawer with shelf.

A “Sweet As Pie” banner hung from the tree in our open picture frame. The banner was also made by using our Silhouette Cameo machine.  We selected a few shabby chic patterned paper sheets for the pennant banner and then glued on cut out glitter letters.

To one side of the table we added a birch tree and hung these glass globes filled with flowers.

Pale pink gerber daisies were used in the white glass bottles on the table and also in the picnic basket centerpiece on the kids table.

The kids table was draped with a white table cloth then a chevron pink table runner and a burlap table runner on top.  We used light pink tableware and wooden cutlery wrapped in twine and a hand crafted lace flower.  At each table setting we added a mini glass cupcake jars.

I was so excited to put this table together and use the new gorgeous products we now have available in the shop.  So many of these items can be incorporated into any type of party such as a wedding, baby shower, bridal shower or birthday party.  You can use so many of these products for different themes like Vintage, Shabby Chic, Rustic, or Woodland.

Happy Party Planning!
